Steffan Llewelyn is a 15 year old Treble who has a passion for opera and classical music. He enjoys playing the piano.
He has recently achieved music qualifications; ABRSM Singing Grade 4,5, 7 &8 with Distinction. He is currently working towards his ABRSM Diploma of Music examination which he hopes to do in Easter 2019. He has also obtained his ABRSM Theory Grade 1,2 and 5 and working towards Grade 6 and Piano Grade 5. He has been awarded the RSCM Choral Silver Medal Award (Bishop's Award) with Distinction and Highly Commended. He is working towards the Royal Society of Church Music (RSCM) Choral Gold Medal.
Steffan has performed many solos at Bangor Cathedral, one of his favourite pieces is the 'Magnificat by Stanford in G'.
He has sang a variety of well known treble solos. During the 2014 ''Thousand Candles'' Christmas Concert he sang Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate Allelluia. He was awarded the Chancellor's scholarship for 2015/2016 in October 2015, this scholarship and medal is given for consistency and was presented to him in a special service by the Diocesan Chancellor in the presence of the Bishop of Bangor, however, Steffan decided to leave the Cathedral choir and has joined the robed choir of St Mary's Church in Conwy (famous for the ''we are seven'' grave).
Steffan has performed with many well known singers, such as Shan Cothi and was invited to sing in her "Paradwys" tour, he has also sung with Rhys Meirion in his 'Tonic' concerts and also in numerous concerts called 'Llwyfan Gerdd' held at the Galeri in Caernarfon.Steffan has also performed in a private concert for Aled Jones. More recently, he played the part of the youth in a Welsh version of Elijah Mendelssohn 'Eleias lead by Trystan Lewis'.
Steffan performs in many concerts for charity and good causes, although he enjoys most genres of music, his passion is for Liturgica and sacred music, he enjoys singing in Anglican and Catholic Church services and has participated with St Joseph Schola choir at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Pwllheli during their Annual Christmas Service of Nine Lessons and Carols as well as with his own choir in Conwy. He has very much enjoyed singing in marriage services, and has sung as the bride walks down the aisle three times, he found that very moving and special.
Steffan participated in the school musical titled 'Bancsi Bach'. He recently appeared on the television programme 'Dechrau Canu Dechrau Canmol' (The Welsh version of Songs of Praise) singing 'Ave Maria' by Bach /Gounod. He previously attended performance classes at Pontio in Bangor. Music theory and singing lessons at the Galeri in Caernarfon whilst piano lessons are a Saturday morning must. As it is the Eisteddfod season, Steffan will also be competing in various singing competitions in the locality.
His passion for singing became apparent when he was given the leading part in a school production of 'Cinderella' just over two years ago, he has gone from strength to strength since then and wishes to be a professional Opera/Classical singer one day and will continue to work hard to achieve his dreams and goals.

Steffan was cast as Linda Brown's grandson in the recent fictional Welsh Lookalike Agency programme called 'Run Sbit' on S4C by Cwmni Da. Both Dechrau Canu Dechrau Canmol and Run Sbit can be seen on Steffan's youtube channel here:

Steffan won first prize performing in the solo competition at the annual school Eisteddfod in Ysgol Tryfan, Bangor February, 2017 and in 2018.
Steffan is a member of the Welsh National Opera (Youth), they are currently rehearsing for their Christmas show.
