Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Aidan James had a calling for the entertainment world. With his classic “hapa-haole” looks, he modeled for print campaigns, acted in TV shows and commercials since he was a baby. He picked up music naturally at the age of 2 and started taking ukulele lessons at 4 years old at the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studios in Honolulu.
At just 8 years old, Aidan became a “youtube sensation.” His videos of Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” are viral hits and has earned over 20 million views which continues to grow daily. When Train came to Honolulu for a concert, lead singer Pat Monahan brought Aidan up on stage. Later, Pat was quoted in a national radio interview for ABC stating his favorite cover of “Hey Soul Sister” is by “ an eight year old kid from Hawaii named Aidan…he’s like a virtuoso ukulele player, a prodigy. It’s incredible, he can wail on it !”
Aidan opened up the Keiki Stage at the 2010 Kokua Festival and has shared stages with Jack Johnson, ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro, Mick Fleetwood, and toured with international Hoku award winners HAPA, He’s played in front of thousands at the Season Premieres for "Hawaii Five-0" and was on episode, "Koolauloa." Aidan's been showcased on major news affiliates, various charity and private events, ukulele and jazz festivals, Japanese Radio, NPR , and in a special layout for Italy's Elle Magazine.
2013 has already brought Aidan many accolades hitting the stage at Pro Bowl in front of 35,000 football fans at the Aloha Stadium. He was featured on the February cover of Midweek with legendary Concert Promoter, Tom Moffatt and shot a music video for a national bullying campaign called IM4U with Jimmy Buffett's guitarist, Jim Mayer. Aidan crossed paths again with Pat Monahan and strummed his way into Train's music video, "Mermaid." In Febuary 2014, Aidan was interviewed by Pat for his podcast Patcast.
Aidan has traveled and performed in California, Oregon, Washington State, New York and Japan. He connects with his fans from all over the world via twitter, facebook, instagram and youtube. Aidan proudly plays Kamaka Ukulele.
Currently, Aidan is working on material for his first full length album.
